Reading and Writing

In each class schedule, there is a designated class time for language arts (reading and writing).  We need this structured time to provide adult-initiated activities that will develop each child's reading and writing skills.  Reading and writing activities are also provided at other times in our school day and they are child-initiated.
  • Twos:  Two-year old children are introduced to the alphabet through stories, rhymes, puppets, and our 3D language arts program.

  • Threes and Pre-K:  Children are placed in leveled learning groups to allow for differentiated learning.  IPR testing, international testing scores, and daily classroom observation determine these groups.  The curriculum is modified to meet each group's learning needs and individual learning needs when necessary.

Math

In each class schedule, there is a designated class time for math.  We need this structured time to provide adult-initiated activities to develop math skills in a sequential learning manner.  Math activities are also provided at other times in our school day and they are child-initiated.

Our teachers provide a broad range of hands-on activities so that children have opportunities to develop their understanding of number, measurement, pattern, shape, and space.
